Chapter 2

Kiara’s POV

Kiara's first day at college had already turned into a nightmare. After her unfortunate encounter with Natasha, she had hoped to slip into class unnoticed, but fate had other plans.

As she and Riya entered the classroom, an eerie silence fell over the room. Whispers filled the air, and students exchanged knowing glances. Kiara felt the weight of countless eyes on her, an unspoken warning hanging in the atmosphere.

Riya leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. "Why is everyone looking at us like that?"

Before Kiara could respond, a deep, lazy chuckle echoed through the room. She turned to see Aryan, slouched in his chair, his signature smirk in place. His piercing gaze locked onto her, amusement dancing in his eyes.

"Well, well, if it isn’t our little troublemaker," Aryan drawled, tapping his fingers rhythmically on his desk. "Didn’t expect to see you waltzing in so confidently after what happened earlier."

Kiara frowned, her heartbeat quickening. "What are you talking about?"

Natasha, who was seated next to Aryan, let out a dramatic sigh. "You really don’t know, do you?" she pouted mockingly. "Poor Aryan had to bear the humiliation of being bumped into by you, and you didn’t even apologize properly. The entire college saw it. Everyone's talking about it."

The room buzzed with murmurs of agreement. Kiara’s eyes widened in disbelief. This was absurd. "I did apologize! It was just an accident!"

Aryan stood up, his tall frame towering over her. His smirk didn’t falter, but his voice grew dangerously soft. "Accidents don’t happen around me, sweetheart. And if they do, there’s always a price to pay."

The tension in the room was suffocating. Kiara clenched her fists, her mind racing. Why was he making such a big deal out of this? Before she could gather her thoughts, Aryan leaned closer, his voice dropping to a whisper only she could hear.

"You’re new here, so let me explain how things work," he murmured. "The moment you crossed Natasha, you crossed me. And no one crosses me without consequences."

Kiara’s breath hitched, but she refused to cower. "If this is your way of intimidating me, it won’t work."

Aryan chuckled darkly. "Oh, sweetheart, it’s not intimidation. It’s a warning. Welcome to hell."

Laughter erupted around the room as Aryan walked back to his seat. Kiara stood frozen, her heart pounding. She had just been marked as an enemy of the most feared group in college. And from the way Aryan had spoken, this was just the beginning.

Ayaan & Riya’s POV

Riya had never seen Kiara look so shaken. She quickly pulled her to their seats, her hands trembling slightly.

"Are you okay?" she whispered urgently.

Kiara nodded stiffly, but her expression remained tense. "I don’t understand. Why are they making such a big deal out of this?"

Before Riya could answer, a familiar voice made her stiffen.

"Because that’s how they work."

Riya turned to find Ayaan standing beside her desk, his gaze unreadable. He glanced at Kiara before looking directly at Riya, a smirk tugging at his lips.

"Your friend just declared war without even realizing it," Ayaan said casually, his tone laced with amusement.

Riya’s jaw tightened. "And you enjoy watching, don’t you?"

Ayaan’s smirk deepened. "It’s entertaining, princess. Watching people struggle to fight back, only to realize they never stood a chance."

Riya clenched her fists. "One day, you’ll be on the losing side, Ayaan. And I’ll be there to see it."

Ayaan leaned in slightly, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Careful what you wish for, sweetheart. You might not like what you see."

Riya’s breath caught in her throat as Ayaan walked away. His presence was infuriating, yet it left her feeling unsettled in ways she couldn’t explain.
